As a permeation enhancer, Laurocapram is non-toxic and non-irritating to the skin; it is a colorless, odorless, and transparent oily liquid. It is insoluble in water—with which it forms an emulsion—but readily soluble in most organic solvents, such as ethanol, propanol, and chloroform.
